an introduction to how this all works.
To those of you who don’t know me, hi! I’m theanamorphic. I run an Instagram account (@theanamorphic) where you can find my reviews and appreciations of films and shows alike. I plan to launch Arrêt officially in January 2023, but wanted to make an introductory post a little earlier so that you, as the reader, have an idea of what Arrêt is, why it was launched, what it will feature, et cetera.
I decided to launch Arrêt simply because there were too many things that I had to say about the shows or films I watched that I couldn’t fit into a single post. I wanted to have an accessible platform where my writing can be read with more convenience, because words often become quite illegible on my posts. Simply put, Arrêt is a sort of continuation of my Instagram posts—here, you’ll be able to find more detailed (and wordier) reviews and any other thoughts that I have about my latest watches.
As for what Arrêt will feature, I will be posting:
Bimonthly reviews
A log of all the shows and films I watched (some of which may not have been reviewed) at the end of each month
Additional posts in between the regular ones above covering a wide range of topics, from a drabble about my favourite character in a film to my thoughts on representations seen in media.
I may go off-schedule on Arrêt at times, as I am a student and often don’t have time to write full articles, but make sure to check out my Instagram account for other posts.
